Palm tree trimming in ChampionsGate, FL

Galapagos trims ChampionsGate palms on vacant days, removing brown fronds, fruit and seed stalks and leaving the green crown, then blows the pool cage and deck clean. It keeps rentals guest-ready and the palms stronger for hurricane season, following UF/IFAS pruning guidance.

Between guests, not during

We schedule trimming on vacant days and leave the pool cage and deck blown clean. Ropes, ladders and falling fronds don’t mix with a family at the pool, and guests should not find fruit in the water on arrival.

Pruned for health

Only fully brown fronds come off. Green fronds feed the palm, and UF/IFAS warns that over-pruning weakens it. The yellowing lower fronds often seen on palms in sandy soil are a sign of potassium shortage; they stay on, and we suggest a feeding plan that follows Osceola County’s rules, including no fertilizer during storm watches.

Over the cage and the lanai

Many ChampionsGate palms lean over a screen enclosure. A dropped frond or a cluster of fruit can tear a panel, so we cut and lower pieces instead of letting them fall, and we clear what lands on the cage roof from outside.

Palms that frame the entry

Many rental homes have a pair of palms framing the drive or the front door, and they appear in nearly every listing photo. Brown fronds hanging at the entry make a well-kept house look neglected, and fruit dropping on the drive ends up on guests’ cars and shoes. A light cleanup of the entry palms between full trims keeps the first impression right without overcutting.

Questions about palm tree trimming

Do I need to block a day in my calendar for palm trimming?

It helps. A vacant day keeps guests away from the work area. Most homes take a few hours, so a same-day turnover gap is often enough.

What if a frond damages my pool screen?

We lower pieces near the cage to avoid that. If we find a torn panel, before or after the work, we send you a photo the same day so you can arrange a repair.

Should yellow fronds be cut off before guests arrive?

No. Yellowing fronds usually mean potassium deficiency, and cutting them makes it worse. The palm looks better within a season with the right fertilizer.

I live out of state. How will I know the palms were trimmed?

We send before-and-after photos of each palm and of the deck and cage once the work is done, so you can check from home and share them with your property manager.

When should I book palm trimming in ChampionsGate?

Before hurricane season starts on June 1, and again whenever brown fronds and fruit stalks build up. How often depends on the species.
