What can pavers and hardscaping do for your yard?
Our pavers and hardscaping service adds the built parts of a landscape: paver walkways, patio extensions, driveway borders, bed edging, stepping stones and small seating areas. Done well, hardscape gives the yard structure, gets people from the driveway to the backyard without a dirt path, and cuts the amount of lawn you have to mow.
Why does the base matter so much?
Pavers are only as good as what’s under them. Central Florida’s sandy soil and heavy summer rain wash out a thin or poorly compacted base, and that’s what makes pavers sink, rock and separate. Our installs follow the same order every time:
- excavate to the depth the project needs,
- lay and compact a crushed base in layers,
- screed a level bedding layer,
- set the pavers in the pattern you chose,
- install edge restraint so the field can’t spread,
- sweep joint sand in and compact the surface.
How should water drain off pavers?
Every hard surface sends water somewhere. Walks and patios are pitched slightly away from the house, and in heavy-rain spots we plan where that water goes, whether that’s a bed, a rock strip or the lawn, so it doesn’t pond against the slab or run into a neighbor’s yard.
Do you need HOA approval or a permit?
In many HOA communities, new hardscape in the front yard needs architectural approval. Some projects, especially larger patios or driveway changes, may also need a permit from your city or county; check before you start or ask us to help you find out. Every paver job involves digging, so Florida law requires notice to Sunshine 811 at least two full business days before excavation.
Pavers and the rest of the landscape
Hardscape and plants are designed together. A new walkway usually means reshaping the beds beside it with plants and shrubs and decorative rock, and planning sprinkler heads so they don’t spray the new surface. For a full redo, start with landscape design.
Keeping pavers looking new
Pavers in Florida pick up mildew, algae and rust stains. Periodic pressure washing and re-sanding the joints keeps them clean and tight. We install pavers in Celebration, Davenport, Four Corners, ChampionsGate and Clermont.

Common questions
Questions about pavers & hardscaping
How do you price a landscaping project?
We look at the area, the materials (plants, mulch, stone, pavers), the prep work and the access for equipment. You get a written quote with those items listed, so you can change a line without redoing the whole project.
Why do pavers sink?
Almost always because of the base: too thin, not compacted in layers, or washed out by water that wasn’t directed away. Fixing sunken pavers means lifting them and rebuilding the base underneath.
Do I need a permit for a paver patio?
It depends on your city or county and the size of the project, and HOAs usually require approval for front-yard changes. Check before starting; we can help you find out what applies.
Should pavers be sealed?
Sealing is optional. It can help with stains and keep joint sand in place, but it needs redoing over time. Regular cleaning and re-sanding matter more.
How much does a paver walkway cost?
It depends on square footage, the paver you choose, the pattern, how much digging and base work the site needs, and access. You get a written price after we measure.
