Overview

Most lawns here are St. Augustine, Bahia or Zoysia, and each one wants something different: a different mowing height, a different amount of fertilizer, a different answer when it turns yellow in July. We set your service around the grass you actually have.

Visits run on a fixed day so you always know when the crew is coming. If we see a problem — chinch bug damage, a broken sprinkler head, a dry patch that keeps coming back — we tell you that day, in English or Spanish.

What does lawn care include in Central Florida?

Lawn care here is a year-round job, not a spring project. Our lawn care service covers weekly lawn mowing, full lawn maintenance, fertilization, weed control, shrub trimming, yard cleanups, new sod and sprinkler work. You can book one service or put the whole yard on one schedule with one crew.

Which grass do you have, and why does it matter?

Most yards in Celebration, Davenport, Four Corners, ChampionsGate and Clermont grow one of three grasses, and each one is mowed and fed differently:

  • St. Augustine (Floratam and similar): broad blades, thick runners, the most common lawn in subdivisions. UF/IFAS puts standard varieties at 3.5–4 inches and dwarf types at about 2.5 inches.
  • Bahia: tougher, more drought-tolerant, common on larger lots and road frontage. Cut at 3–4 inches and needs far less nitrogen than St. Augustine.
  • Zoysia: dense and fine, cut lower (about 2–2.5 inches for coarse types). It looks sharp but scalps easily if the mower is set wrong.

On the first visit we confirm what you have and set the mower to match. Cutting too low is the most common reason a Florida lawn thins out and fills with weeds.

How does the Florida year change the work?

Rainy season (June–September)

Grass grows fastest when the afternoon storms arrive. Weekly mowing keeps each cut under the one-third rule UF/IFAS recommends. This is also when chinch bugs show up in sunny, stressed St. Augustine, so we watch the edges along driveways and sidewalks.

Fall and winter (October–February)

Growth slows and many lawns can move to every other week. Cooler, damp weather brings large patch, a fungus that UF/IFAS says is active below about 80 °F. Early October is the last lawn feeding of the year in Central Florida.

Spring (March–May)

Spring is dry. Pre-emergent weed control goes down around mid-February, the first fertilizer in early April, and May is the month irrigation coverage matters most. The Florida lawn calendar lays out the whole year.

Which local rules do we plan around?

Your street address decides your watering days and your fertilizer rules, and the service area spans three counties and three water management districts:

  • Osceola County (Celebration, ChampionsGate): South Florida Water Management District two-day watering schedule. The county fertilizer ordinance has no summer ban, but no fertilizer during tropical storm or hurricane watches and warnings.
  • Polk County (Davenport, part of Four Corners): Southwest Florida Water Management District one-day-a-week shortage order through March 31, 2027. No summer ban, but no nitrogen or phosphorus during severe weather or when more than 2 inches of rain is likely.
  • Lake County (Clermont, part of Four Corners): St. Johns River Water Management District Phase III order. Unincorporated Lake County bans nitrogen and phosphorus on lawns June 1–September 30.

Every city page has the detail for that area, for example Davenport and Clermont.

Who is lawn care for?

We work first for homeowners who want the yard handled without thinking about it, and also for vacation-rental owners who need the lawn ready between guests, HOA and property managers who need one dependable crew, and owners who live out of state. If you just closed on a house, start with a lawn care visit in Celebration or the city closest to you and we will tell you what the lawn needs first.

Common questions

Questions about lawn care

How often should a Central Florida lawn be mowed?

Weekly from about April through October, when grass grows fastest, so no cut removes more than a third of the blade. Many lawns can go every other week from November to March. We set the schedule to your grass and adjust it with the season.

Do I have to sign a long contract for lawn care?

Your quote spells out the service, the frequency and the price before anything starts. If you want everything on one plan, our property care plans bundle lawn, beds and seasonal work. Call (407) 577-6400 to talk through what fits.

Why is my St. Augustine turning yellow or brown in patches?

In summer, a common cause is chinch bugs, which start in hot, sunny, dry spots. In fall and winter it is often large patch, a fungus with darker or orange edges. Dry irrigation zones look similar. We check which one it is before anything is treated.

Can I talk to the crew in Spanish?

Yes. We are a bilingual company: quotes, scheduling, texts and on-site questions in English or Spanish, whichever you prefer.

What happens when it rains on my mowing day?

Summer storms usually pass in the afternoon, so most visits still happen. Mowing soaked grass tears the blades and ruts the soil, so if a storm sets in we move your visit and let you know.
