Landscaping in Four Corners, FL
Galapagos turns Four Corners builder landscapes into finished front yards: wider beds, defined edges and plants sized for the space and for sandy, fast-draining soil. We work from your HOA or CDD guidelines, prepare the plan the committee needs, and install in a day or two once it is approved.
Upgrade the builder package
A typical new-build front yard in Four Corners has a narrow bed along the foundation, a row of shrubs of one kind and thin mulch. Wider beds, defined edges and plants sized for the space make the biggest difference for the money. We keep the plan simple enough to maintain — a design that needs weekly pruning to look right is not a good design.
Many HOAs, many rulebooks
Subdivisions here each have their own association or community development district, and their guidelines differ on plant lists, rock, edging and front-yard turf. We work from yours and prepare the drawing and plant list the committee needs. Florida law (s. 373.185) says a deed restriction may not prohibit Florida-friendly landscaping, so drought-tolerant choices are on the table even where the guidelines are strict about looks.
Sandy soil, county lines and new plants
On the old Citrus Ridge, soil drains fast, so we group plants by water need and use 2–3 inches of mulch to hold moisture. New plantings get extra watering days, and the allowance depends on your water district — we leave you the right schedule. If your lot backs onto a pond on the Orange side, fertilizer stays 25 feet from the water; in Lake County, 15 feet.

Questions about landscaping
What should I change first in a builder landscape?
Usually the front beds: widen them, define the edges and replace plants that are too small or too thirsty. That gives the most visible change for the budget. Backyard projects can follow.
Do I need HOA approval for new landscaping in Four Corners?
Most associations here review visible changes. Check your guidelines; we prepare the drawing and plant list for the submittal and start after approval.
How do I water new plants under my district’s rules?
Each water district gives new plantings extra days for a set period, and the rules differ between districts. We find your district from your address and leave you the schedule with the project.
Is rock or mulch better on sandy Four Corners soil?
Organic mulch holds moisture and slowly improves sandy soil, which rock does not. Rock lasts longer and suits areas without plants. Many yards use both.
