Tree removal in Celebration, FL
Galapagos removes trees from Celebration lots where there is no room to drop them whole — between a house, a fence and an alley. We take the tree down in sections, protect the roof, walks and neighbors’ yards, and can grind the stump and re-sod so the yard matches the street again.
Check before you cut
Street trees and trees in common areas may belong to the community rather than the homeowner. Confirm with your association which trees are yours before scheduling a removal. Some removals also need county approval; permit rules for trees that are not a documented risk vary, so we check what applies to your address before work starts.
Florida law (s. 163.045) says a local government may not require a permit to remove a residential tree that an ISA-certified arborist or a Florida-licensed landscape architect documents as an unacceptable risk. That exemption does not cover association rules.
Sectional takedowns on small lots
Celebration lots leave little room for a tree to fall. We remove limbs first, then take the trunk down in pieces, lowering them with ropes when they hang over a roof, a fence or the alley. Plywood or mats protect walks and turf where the pieces land.
Ready for what’s next
Once the tree is out, we can grind the stump below grade and replant or re-sod so the yard matches the street again. Stump grinding is digging, so the utility locate goes through Sunshine 811 at least two full business days before, as Florida law requires.

Questions about tree removal
Do I need a permit to remove a tree in Celebration?
It depends on the tree. If an ISA-certified arborist or a licensed landscape architect documents it as an unacceptable risk, Florida law says the local government cannot require a permit. Otherwise county rules may apply, and your association may have its own. We check before we schedule.
Is stump grinding included?
It is an option on the quote, priced separately, so you can choose. If you want sod or a bed where the tree stood, the stump has to be ground first.
Can you remove a tree that hangs over the alley?
Yes. We take it down in sections and lower the pieces by rope so the alley stays open as much as possible, then clean it before we leave.
Could the tree be trimmed instead of removed?
Often, yes. Thinning the canopy and taking out dead wood is what UF/IFAS recommends to help trees through storms. If trimming will do the job, we say so before quoting a removal.
